Trenton based New Jersey Community Capital (NJCC), a non-profit loan fund that supports New Jersey business community-based enterprises is in the news for exceeding $111 million in financing for the widespread of chartered schools in New Jersey. This achievement implies the extreme dedication of the business organization in providing financial help to chartered schools of high quality. Such schools have received this amount of help from the NJCC because they have the power of enlightening the lives of students who live in various undeserved communities of New Jersey. This organization has contributed more than $47 million to chartered schools since 2004. This has leveraged to $111 million in July, 2010.

MERCER COUNTY, May 25  — The Annual 200 Club of Mercer County Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, June 9th, at 11:30am at the Mercer Oaks Golf Course Clubhouse in West Windsor.  It will feature New Jersey’s first Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno as Guest Speaker. The Lt. Governor previously served as the 75th Sheriff of Monmouth County, and the county’s first woman sheriff.  

The 200 Club will also present a Valor Award to State Trooper Steven Foster for his actions at the scene of an accident in Hamilton Township. The Valor Award is presented to an individual who has committed an act of bravery, beyond the call of duty, and imminent personal risk to his own life and safety, and is the highest award given by a 200 Club.  A 200 Club Valor pin is the only pin allowed to be worn on the uniform of a New Jersey State Police officer outside of his own awards.

“We are excited to welcome Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno to  this year’s luncheon,” states Cathy Frank-White, President of the 200 Club of Mercer County. “I believe there is a ground swell of support for all the dedicated law enforcement, fire and rescue organizations in Mercer County. These men and women play an integral role for the security and safety in our community,” Frank-White continues.

The 200 Club of Mercer County is one of several hundred associations nationwide dedicated to providing financial assistance to the families of our public safety and rescue personnel who are killed in the line of duty. This includes the police officers (state, county, and municipal), correction officers, fire fighters, and rescue squad technicians of Mercer County.

Established in 1979, The 200 Club of Mercer County has provided funds to a multitude
of families. Becoming a member of the 200 Club of Mercer County will support an honorable cause at a time when the families of these dedicated and brave individuals need it most.

The luncheon is open to the public and costs $40 per person, or $400 for table of 10.
Attendees who apply for membership will get the luncheon as part of their application cost. Membership is $200 and is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. The 200 Club of Mercer County is a tax-exempt charity under section 501(c)(3). Portraits of Patriots is a grass roots initiative founded in 1998 by William Sanders to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of George Washington.  The main objective of the initiative is to return the portrait of George Washington that once hung in every American school.

William Sanders has printed from the original “signed artist proof” the steel engraved presidential portrait of George Washington by William E. Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello recently spoke at a meeting of the Mercer County Association of Realtors (MCAR). NJ Tax Relief for Severe Storm Victims

The New Jersey Division of Taxation will follow the guidelines recently provided by the Internal Revenue Service for taxpayers in the Presidential Disaster Relief Areas for severe storms, flooding, mudslides and landslides in New Jersey beginning March 12, 2010. Affected taxpayers include businesses and individuals located in the disaster areas, those whose tax records are in the disaster areas, and relief workers.

The twelve counties covered by the federal declaration are: Atlantic, Bergen, Cape May, Essex, Gloucester, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic, Somerset and Union.

Taxpayers affected by the storms now have until May 11, 2010 to file their New Jersey tax returns such as individual income tax, corporation business tax, sales tax, inheritance tax, estate tax, partnership and other business taxes administered by the Division of Taxation and to submit payments for any return and/or payment, including estimated payments which have either an original or extended due date occurring on or after March 12, 2010 and on or before May 11, 2010. If the IRS further extends the filing deadline for federal tax purposes, the deadline for New Jersey returns and payments will also be extended.

If you are affected by the storms and the due date for filing your return and for paying your tax is postponed by the Division of Taxation, you may be eligible for interest and penalty abatement on underpaid tax that would otherwise accrue for the period of the postponement.

If you receive a billing notice from the Division, you should call our Customer Service Center at the number listed on the notice to explain your circumstances.
